Scott Fritzinger
Owner and Head Instructor
2nd Degree Black Belt
With 23 years of martial arts training and 20 years of BJJ, Professor Scott has had plenty of time to hone his craft. His favorite part of martial arts is that it’s constantly evolving, which calls for creative thought and energy to solve ever-changing problems and puzzles. For Professor Scott, practicing martial arts serves as a creative outlet, and that’s pretty cool. When he’s not problem-solving on the mats or running FMA with his wife Danelle, you’ll find him managing their various pets, obsessing over his tomato plants, or rolling on other mats in town for more inspiration.
Anson Aninao
Lead Instructor
Black Belt
Anson has trained for sixteen years, starting at age twenty-one. He loves teaching for the moment a new skill clicks and you can see pure joy on a student’s face. His coaching style blends clear fundamentals with live problem-solving so students build confidence under pressure. Outside the gym, he’s often cross-training at other schools or getting outdoors to hunt, fish, and camp. His go-to tip: be patient, create a little controlled chaos to learn under stress, and don’t skip the cool-down—stretch after every session so tomorrow’s training feels better than today’s.
CJ Bower
Youth Instructor
Purple Belt
CJ has trained for thirteen years, starting at age seventeen. His favorite part of teaching is watching students realize they can do far more than they thought possible—and seeing that confidence carry into the next round. In class, he focuses on clear progressions and problem-solving under pressure so skills stick. When he’s not at Guerrilla, he’s lifting weights, tinkering with (“hacking”) computers, or out in nature with his family. Fun fact: he’s also a black belt in Choy Li Fut Kung Fu—and jokes that the only thing Kung Fu has over BJJ is that it comes with swords.
Jessica Peart
Adult Instructor
Purple Belt
Jess has trained for four years, starting at age thirty-five. She loves teaching because she gets to watch people do things they once thought were impossible and reach the goals they set. Her go-to reminder comes from coach Kelsey Carter: “It’s not that you can’t do it—we just have to find the right angle.” In class, she encourages stepping outside comfort zones, learning from misses, and focusing on the process. Away from Guerrilla, she’s painting, drawing, writing, playing ukulele or guitar, and gaming with her family—house motto: “A family that games together, stays together!”
Eric Dufurrena
Youth Instructor
Blue Belt
BKJN Eric has been doing this martial arts thing since 1978, and he’s dabbled in the branch of Tang Soo Do as well, where he’s ranked as a 3rd degree black belt. It’s the constant challenge of martial arts that keeps him interested, plus the people from all walks of life who are drawn to it. At Freestyle and Guerrilla, Eric works directly with all the programs! Kids, Adults, BJJ -you name it, he does it.
